The Benefits of Gym Membership
If you're a member of a gym or health club and your commitment is beginning to drift, think back to your reasons for joining in the first place. Focus on some of the issues which made you sign up and ensured you visited regularly when you started:
Community
Exercising alongside others is a great way to improve motivation. You may even choose to team up with an exercise buddy to set goals and targets between you. Just sharing the experience makes it more enjoyable; compare that with getting on an exercise bike in your own spare room.
Expert advice
Staff at your club can set up programmes that inject interest and variety and which ensure you make progress. Advice can be given on the effects of diet and exercise to ensure the correct balance between the two.
Classes: try something new!
Get involved with exercise classes, spinning, yoga, pilates, kick boxing; any of the many sessions which your club may provide. They can take you out of your comfort zone, stretch you (literally) and can be a great way to meet new people.
Quality and variety of equipment
Running machines, cross trainers, exercise bikes, rowing machines; this is probably the sort of choice available in your club and that's just for cardio-vascular exercise. This provides variety, on safe, modern, well-maintained equipment. Personal trainers can provide advice on the most appropriate settings and devise a complete programme.
